Ichor Savant

Class Feature: Ichorwerk

  • Ichor Savants of the Imperial Commission undergo extensive training and modification. They do this by ingesting small amounts of black ichor, which they differentiate within themselves.
  • Differentiated ichor is extruded from the pores and collected in clay balls, which can be drunk from, thrown, or given to others to do the same. This is ichorwerk.
  • Starting level Commissioners begin with the ability to make 2 common ichorwerks per encounter. This is represented OC by starting each encounter with two yellow foam balls.
  • You do not have to determine what an ichorwerk is until you throw/drink/donate it. However, it must be of the correct type (Yellow - Common, White - Restricted, Black - Secret), and must be an ichorwerk you know how to make.
  • Ichorwerks expire at the end of the encounter in which they are produced.
  • Savants may learn how to produce different types of ichorwerk by taking the Hybridize skill.
  • Savants may train themselves to produce more Ichorwerk by taking the Fecundity skill.

Class Feature: Mutation

  • Whenever Savants take the 'Fecundity' skill, they must take a mutation from the following list.
  • Starting level Commissioners begin with one mutation.
  • Mutations are viewed in Rastaban with great respect, and there is nothing grotesque or bad about possessing them.

Class Feature: Affiliation

  • Gain the Affiliate skill for the Imperial Commission.

Class Feature: Black Ichor

  • Savants have unprecedented access to Black Ichor which they may take outside of the Commission in specially prepared obsidian containers and use to power some of their abilities.
  • Savants can purchase Ichor at a cost of 1 favour per container.
  • Furthermore, Savants gain Black Ichor depending on their rank of Contacts skill with the Commission:
    • Affiliation: 2 Black Ichor / adventure
    • Respected: 5 Black Ichor / adventure
    • Influence: 9 Black Ichor / adventure
  • Even the specially prepared obsidian flasks cannot withstand the ravages of Ichor, however, and as such, Black Ichor becomes unusable by the end of any adventure is is taken out on.
  • Selling or distributing ichor taken from the Commission is Treason.
  • Misplacing or allowing ichor to be stolen is also a High Crime.

Skills

Lv1

Scent of Ichor

  • You can identify black ichor by smell, and pinpoint any large sources nearby.
  • You can recognise concealed Commissioners and ichorwerks.

Hybridize (Common)

  • Your body can produce 3 types of common ichorwerk.
  • Choose 3 from the ichorwerk list.

Fecundity (Common)

  • Your body can produce 1 additional common ichorwerk per encounter.
  • OC, this is represented by a yellow foam ball.
  • You must take a mutation from the following list.

Bliss

  • Once per encounter, you may call RESIST to the effects of your own ichorwerk.

Rupture

  • Extensive damage to your body causes a pool of deadly sludge to seep out into the surrounding area.
  • When you are bleeding out or dead:
  • You must call STAGGER 5 to anyone who takes a STAGGER within 5m of your corpse.

Inspiration

  • You may crunch any 2 ichorwerks of one class into a different ichorwerk of the same class, even if you do not know how to make it yet.

Lv2

Hybridize (Restricted)

  • Your body can produce 3 types of restricted ichorwerk.
  • Choose 3 from the ichorwerk list.

Fecundity (Restricted)

  • Your body can produce 1 additional restricted ichorwerk per encounter.
  • OC, this is represented by a white foam ball.
  • You must take a mutation from the following list.

Hybridize (Common)

  • Your body can produce 3 types of common ichorwerk.
  • Choose 3 from the ichorwerk list.

Fecundity (Common)

  • Your body can produce 1 additional common ichorwerk per encounter.
  • OC, this is represented by a yellow foam ball
  • You must take a mutation from the following list.

Benediction

  • Once per adventure, you may apply a temporary mutation to yourself or another willing or unresisting individual.
  • This can either be from the mutations list, or freeform.
  • If freeform, consult a GM but the list should serve as a guide to the scope of effects that are possible.
  • This mutation will tend to last for the rest of the adventure.

Guided Mutation

1 Black Ichor

  • Once per adventure you may feed yourself or another willing individual pure black Ichor and attempt to make permanent changes to their body.
  • This can either be from the mutations list, or freeform.
  • If freeform, consult a GM but the list should serve as a guide to the scope of effects that are possible.
  • Consult a GM.

Trick Shot

  • Once per encounter, when you miss a target with any ichorwerk,
  • So long as the ichorwerk landed within 1m of a valid target, you may make the appropriate call against them.

Lv3

Hybridize (Restricted)

  • Your body can produce 3 types of restricted ichorwerk.
  • Choose 3 from the ichorwerk list.

Fecundity (Restricted)

  • Your body can produce 1 additional restricted ichorwerk per encounter.
  • OC, this is represented by a white foam ball.
  • You must take a mutation from the following list.

Bliss

  • Once per encounter, you may call RESIST to the effects of your own ichorwerk.

Berserker Serum

1 Black Ichor

  • You may with 10s concentration apply special serums to a willing or unconscious individual (but not yourself).
  • This temporarily boosts their physical capabilities far beyond their natural limits.
  • Every time they enter their death count this encounter, they may stay up and fighting for 10s.
  • They are driven into a blind rage, however, and must always attack the nearest enemy (if available) or otherwise, their nearest target.
  • These effects last until the end of the encounter.

Expurgation

  • You may attempt to decontaminate a mutated area by sucking up the black ichor that has suffused it into yourself.
  • This may trigger a psychic combat.

Flesh to Clay

2 Black Ichor

  • You may attempt to alleviate a Sever or lower affliction of the body by inducing a compensatory mutation.

Golden Handshake

  • Nominate an ichorwerk that delivers a CURSE by flask.
  • That potion is used up.
  • Until the end of the encounter, you may deliver this CURSE by offering someone a handshake.
  • If they accept, they will take the effect of the CURSE.
  • (NB: The target may accept the handshake OC.)

Lv4

Hybridize (Secret)

  • Your body can produce 3 types of secret ichorwerk.
  • Choose 3 from the ichorwerk list.

Fecundity (Secret)

  • Your body can produce 1 additional secret ichorwerk per encounter.
  • OC, this is represented by a black foam ball.
  • You must take a mutation from the following list.

Concoction

3 Black Ichor

  • You have moved beyond simply following the recipes of others.
  • You may attempt to brew a unique ichorwerk to your own specifications.
  • You could, for instance, try and make a large bomb or an airborne hallucinogen.
  • The GM will then decide what the new concoction does.

Greater Rupture

Pre-req: Rupture

  • The cocktail of ichor inside you transforms the ground where you bleed into a nightmare cesspool.
  • 10s after you begin to bleed out, call MASS SINGLE.
  • You may call MASS SINGLE every 5s thereafter so long as you remain on 0 hits.

Potency

  • Thrice per adventure, you may increase the potency of an ichorwerk you know how to make which produces an affliction.

Trick Shot

  • Once per encounter, when you miss a target with any ichorwerk,
  • So long as the ichorwerk landed within 1m of a valid target, you may make the appropriate call against them.

Monsterify

3 Black Ichor

  • You may apply a temporary mutation to yourself or a willing or unresisting individual.
  • The power and scope of this mutation is beyond that of a standard mutation.
  • This mutation lasts until the end of the adventure it was applied.
  • For a standard combat use of this ability, use the following:
  • The next time the target drops to 0 hits:
    • Targets maximum hits are now 16.
    • Target regains all hits.
    • Target regains all weapon calls.
    • Target gains 3 OMNI RESISTs.
    • Target gains 3 MASS FEAR.
    • Target gains 3 ARC STAGGER.
  • Otherwise, consult a GM.

Lv5

Hybridize (Secret)

  • Your body can produce 3 types of secret ichorwerk.
  • Choose 3 from the ichorwerk list.

Fecundity (Secret)

  • Your body can produce 1 additional secret ichorwerk per encounter.
  • OC, this is represented by a black foam ball.
  • You must take a mutation from the following list.

Dark Rupture

Pre-Req: Greater Rupture

  • If someone drops to 0 hits while within 5m of you when you are bleeding out, you must call CURSE and take a HEAL 6.

Ichorwalk

Pre-Req: Dark Rupture

  • Once per adventure, you may bid your body become as ichor.
  • Your body dissolves into black goop.
  • You take a SLAY and start to bleed out.
  • However, you can, use ichorwerk, and make calls from the any Rupture abilities while in this form.
  • You may also move at a rate of one step every 2s.
  • You must call VOID to any calls or damage from others.
  • You are immune to EXECUTE, but not death.
  • You may use this ability if you have already entered your death count.
  • Taking a HEAL or FIGHT ON! call ends this effect. Call APPEARING.

Fleshcrafter

Pre-Req: Flesh to Clay
4 Black Ichor

  • You may attempt to cure a chronic affliction of the body by inducing a compensatory mutation.

Mutate Reality

Pre-Req: Expurgation 3 Black Ichor

  • Pick a single attribute that you want an area to have.
  • The local area will change to have this attribute, and likely other attributes as well.
  • You may use this ability in combat, call a TIME FREEZE and consult a GM.
  • Use of this ability in Rastaban whilst not in the Wastes is High Treason.
